Dr. Tania Mahbub

MBBS, MD (Nephrology), Consultant Nephrology. First Foreign Trained Female Renal Transplant Fellow in Bangladesh.
Dr. Tania Mahbub graduated (MBBS) from Sher-e-Bangla Medical College, Barisal under the University of Dhaka in 2001. She joined in Government job in 2005 and served in renowned Government tertiary care hospitals, notably in Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Sir Salimullah Medical College (Mitford) Hospital and Kurmitola General Hospital.
She completed her four years of fellowship training in Medicine under BCPS and completed Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Nephrology from Dhaka Medical College in 2012. In 2013, Dr. Tania attended the Multi Organ Transplant Centre at Royal Victoria Hospital under the auspices of McGill University Heath Centre (MUHC), Montreal, Canada for pursuing a prestigious International Fellowship in Nephrology duly awarded by the International Society of Nephrology (ISN).
She won this highly competitive position by virtue of her extraordinary merit and practical exposition. This esteemed fellowship rendered her an opportunity to undertake rigorous training there for one year in Cadaveric and Living Donor Transplantation as well as in Critical Care Nephrology. Having completed this fellowship training successfully, she became the first female Renal Transplant Fellow in Bangladesh being trained abroad. Dr. Tania has an accolade of research work which have been published in numerous scientific journal in home and abroad. She has special interest in Glomerular disease, critical care Nephro disease and dialysis. She joined United Hospital Ltd in 2015 and currently is serving here as Consultant, Nephrology.
